The Laver Cup is an international men’s team tennis tournament that pits Team Europe against Team World. The tournament, which started in 2017, is named after the legendary Australian tennis player Rod Laver.

It should come as no surprise that Team Europe has been the most successful team in the Laver Cup, winning four out of the six editions held so far (2017, 2018, 2019, and 2021). When you have Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, and Rafael Nadal playing for you, it's hard not to win. Who Gets Invited to the Laver Cup?

Playing in the Laver Cup is truly an honor, and not many players have the chance to do so. Each team in the Laver Cup has six players. Three players automatically qualify based on their ATP singles ranking on Monday after the French Open, which is usually held in June. By the beginning of the US Open in August, the remaining three are revealed as "captain's picks." Each team is led by a tennis legend, such as Bjorn Borg for Team Europe and John McEnroe for Team World.
